“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Who here has something that’s been weighing you down pretty hard? Like most of us, life sometimes can get a little bit rough. We can let life tear us down and make us bitter. That’s actually a lot easier than trying to fight back. It’s so quick for us to get wrapped up in all of our problems. Just like it’s a whole lot easier to sit back and think about all the things going wrong in your life, instead of all the things that are going right.
Most of the wrong stuff going on in our lives tends to overtake our minds, and when we give it a little bit of attention, we think and think about how we’ll ever overcome it. Eventually it goes away but here comes more problems and it’s just a repeating cycle of madness going on in our mind. Eventually all these thoughts take a toll on not only our mental health but our physical health as well. Both of which are very important to our well beings. We start to worry more, and our faces and bodies suffer because of it.
If we could just change our way of thinking, we could still have hope and joy no matter what our situations are at the moment. A simple change of thought could do all the difference in our lives.
I know sometimes we wake up feeling amazing, praising the Lord, thanking Him for another day of life and promising to do the most with this day that He has provided for us. You get ready for work, singing and praising. Then you leave for the day and suddenly you find yourself screaming at the car in front of you for not using a blinker. You get to work and already someone is complaining to you about something you or management failed to do. I know at this point, you’ve already forgotten about the peaceful morning you had.
Training our minds every time we wake up is important because it determines how our days will be. Wake up and tell yourself “I know some obstacles and negativity is bound to come my way today, and that’s okay. I and only I can determine my mood and how my day will be. I will make sure no matter what to keep a positive attitude and open heart to all.” Which is exactly right. We are only as happy and calm as we train our minds to be.
If you can change your mind, you can heal your heart. Just like flowers we must water ourselves daily in order to grow. We must truly care and nurture for ourselves every single day if not eventually we will wilt away. Our minds are something we have to train and work at every day as well in order to keep growing. Try to always look on the bright side of your situation. Always keep your head up high no matter what. Continue to be the warriors I know you all are!
